Power of Positivity/Law of Attraction
On my own team page and in various Y groups, including Elite leader groups and in the comments on the POP I've seen more than a few unsure emoticon and frown emoticon (meh and frownie emoticons). Those are no-no's in my group and should be no-no's for your business as well. FB and texting has made it so easy to hit that left parentheses button or use the sad or crying face sticker without hesitation. Just in my regular FB interactions with non-Y people, I see the frown emoticon for situations that really don't deserve a sad face. Think about what you are posting. Are you truly sad about it? Maybe you are feeling a little confused, or a little frustrated. Fine...but neither of those emotions warrant a sad face.
I'm sure you are wondering why I'm harping on this, and it's very simple. When you type frown emoticon, you are convincing the world you are negative and in turn, tricking yourself into thinking so too. And when you put sadness and negativity out into the world...that is exactly what you will get back. It's called the "Law of Attraction". You will get back exactly what you put out there. (It's an actual thing...books are written about it....Amber Voight lives it. Fact check it if you don't believe me, wink emoticon )
I can promise you, I haven't always been positive. (I'm secretly a doomsday prepper wink emoticon I have always been a realist, with a tendency to err on the negative side of things. If we expect the worst, we'll never be disappointed...right? WRONG. If we expect the worst, we will get the worst and we will be disappointed that the good didn't happen. If we expect the worst, we will still look for the negative even when something awesome happens...because that is what we have trained our brains to do...and we will still be disappointed.
It took lots and lots of practice for me to become a positive person. Yes...it is something that must be practiced. You can't just wish to be positive, or wish for amazing things to happen so you can be positive. Life will give you TONS of opportunities for you to practice your positivity. Be grateful for that, and PRACTICE being positive! I challenge you to go 2 weeks without a single sad face, frown face, anger face, or tears face. Every time you feel like posting one of those, or something negative (or frustrated), take a deep breath and think of a way for you to type/say what you are feeling, but in a positive way.
Example:
Negative: My new products are taking FOREVER to get here! GRRR!!! frown emoticon
Positive: Good thing this is lip stain and bronzer I'm waiting on and not a pacemaker....because THAT would truly be something to be angry about! Good thing I've still got my amazing mascara to promote!!
In the negative scenario, you have now created a cloud that 1) doesn't end with you and 2) doesn't grow your business. Now, it will attach itself to every other negative thinker and will grow and grow and as it does, you will become even MORE negative before. The positive scenario allows you to continue to work and grow your business and allows you to feel a little gratitude. And don't we all feel better being grateful than being negative?
task...complete all of these things.
1) Go 2 without posting or commenting negatively.
2) Today- list 3 positive things about yourself, your life, or your business, on your FB page.
3) Continue that for the rest the week. 3 things a day (post all at once or break it up throughout your day) Look for situations that you initially think are negative and find a way to post about them positively.
4)This week- Find an instance where you posted a unsure emoticon or frown emoticon regarding Younique (either on your team page, personal page, or a comment on another Y related page) and consider how how you could have posted it in a more positive way.
Our mindset is something that has to be trained...just like a muscle. It need the right fuel and the right exercise to strengthen it. Make your mindset the strongest part of you! I promise, it is something you will never regret doing for both your life and your business.
